Times are tough for a lot of people – and many just don’t have the money to spend on an extravagant valentine’s day gift. What do you suggest? |
|
You don’t have to spend a lot to say I love you. If you’ve been procrastinating because you don’t have the money to spend – don’t sweat it. Valentine’s Day is about love – not money! There are lots of things you can do. Make them a card, or write them a poem. You can even give a romantic valentine’s day massage. Better yet – combine all those ideas and it will make a Valentine’s Day evening to remember, without breaking the bank!

You can always go for an all-time favorite date night: drinks and dinner, maybe a movie! Give the gift of a romantic, memorable experience with great food and atmosphere! That’s why I like Bonefish Grill. It was recently named “Best Seafood” winner by ZAGAT. They specialize in wood-grilled specialties and use only the freshest ingredients in their menu and big-city bar. Their Bang Bang Shrimp and Steak and Lobster Duet are great dishes to savor and share, and when guests come in this Valentine’s Day, they will receive a special chocolate surprise from Ghirardelli! You can also buy a Bonefish Grill gift card – so you can have a fabulous date night any time of year. And here’s the best part: Bonefish Grill wants to hear your best, worst and funniest date stories – for a chance to win a romantic getaway to California wine country! What about some not-so traditional Valentine’s Day Gifts? |
|
Well, if you’re a pet owner like me – Valentine’s Day wouldn’t be complete without showing some love for my dog Gucci. He really does hold a special place in my heart. SO, to make him feel special, I go to PetSmart to stock up on his favorite toys… like the high heel and tasty-looking cupcake vinyl chew toys. Although ,Gucci seems to prefer the hot lips.
You can also send your pet an edible Valentine’s Day Card! They’re made out of rawhide and trust me – your pets will love them! Or, get this cute Flirt Tee from Martha Stewart Pets – available exclusively at PetSmart and petsmart.com.
And, if you don’t have a four-legged valentine this year – you can always find one in any PetSmart this Valentine’s Weekend. PetSmart is hosting its annual National Adoption Weekend to find homes for more than 17 thousand dogs, cats, and other small animals.

Well, February may be the month for love, but it’s also National Heart Health awareness month.
What better gift can you give to yourself or your loved one this Valentine’s Day than the gift of good health? Perhaps think about starting a vitamin regimen – and this is something you can do together! To start, give your Valentine a wellness basket complete with a few heart-healthy vitamins, like Fish Oil and CoQ10. But quality is key for any gift, including supplements and that is why I recommend and trust Nature Made brand for my health. We all know there are many choices out there, and we all want the very best and highest quality for that special someone. Here’s what I consider when choosing a vitamin:
For your wellness basket, since it is also heart health month, think about vitamins like Nature Made Fish Oil to help protect your heart and CoQ10 to support heart muscle strength. Vitamin D and multis are also good. I love Nature Made’s new vitamin assessment tool online that gives customized vitamin plans for your needs – try it at www.NatureMade.com.
I recommend Nature Made brand because the quality of your supplements really matters - Nature Made’s extensive quality checks ensure that every product is made according to the highest standards in the industry. And, their proprietary quality process ensures what’s on the label is in the bottle!
Nature Made was the first vitamin brand to join the USP Verified Dietary Supplement program, an independent public health organization responsible for setting supplement quality standards.
Nature Made® products are tested and verified by the USP and only products that meet the stringent criteria are allowed to use the USP verified mark on their label – it is a standard that I seek for my vitamin brand.

Do you have any other advice for the procrastinators out there? |
|
You can always look to the Valentine’s Day favorites for inspiration. Flowers, cards, and chocolates do the trick. According to a recent survey – men made up for 73% of all Valentine’s day flower sales. So guys, if you are really in a bind, just grab a bouquet and you’re in good company. There are so many ways to say I love you. So, my last piece of advice: whatever you do, don’t show up empty handed!
